Wallpaper Removal in Camp Hill, PA – We gets so many calls for wallpaper removal that I can’t believe any still exists in Camp Hill. Paper removal is extremely tricky because much of the paper in this area was applied with out sizing. In fact, we often run into wallpaper removal jobs that that were not even painting underneath. Untreated walls are highly susceptible to being damaged during the removal process. We have found that sealing in the paper is often the only way to deal with this. While it is not ideal, modern primers and MANY years of perfecting our technique have made this a cost effective option. We certainly prefer to strip wallpaper anytime the walls were properly prepared for paper, but nice to have a back up plan! Epoxy floors in Camp Hill, PA – Just Add Paint had the opportunity to work on many Epoxy Floor systems in Camp Hill this year. We are seeing an increase in the amount of customers who are looking to have this process done. Concrete in Camp Hill is often mixed or coated with a sealer, therefor floors must be prepped with a grinder. Floors without sealer can often be prepped using acid etching, degreasing, or some combination of the two.
Some popular brands include Sherwin Williams Porch and floor. This paint is technically a latex that is epoxy fortified, however, it performs similary to a full strength epoxy. This products only drawback is that hot tire pick up will eventually wear the paint down. 2-part water-based epoxy systems are a step up form a single component. 2 part epoxy involve mixing in a hardener which gives them greater durability and temperature resistance. PPGs Aquapon WB is our favorite of ours. 2-part Solvent-Based epoxy systems are considered to the most durable of all. Unfortunately they re also the most difficult to work with AND the most toxic. “Please do not try this at home”. I am thinking about having my tub repainted with an epoxy paint. Here is the picture: https://ibb.co/vLmNdpm
Do you think having a tub repainted is feasible? how long would it last?
Hi Al – While I love epoxy for basement and garage floors, I don’t fully trust any of the DIY products that are out there for painting tubs. We have had some success with painting tile over the years, but hot, pooling water is a different animal. I know a handful of pros that have attempted to refinish tubs and non of them lasted any length of time. I would strong recommend looking for a company that specializes in tub refinishing/reglazing that comes with a good warranty if you want to have a permanent or even semi-permanent solution. The price gets a little salty for this sort finish, but it usually beats the cost of demo/removal/re-plumbing unless you are very handy had have lots of time on your hands. Good luck, hope this helps!
